After senior pictures on Thursday, we stopped by school to see where Micah's classes would be this fall. While we were there we ran into Paul Lund, Micah's World History teacher last year.
He asked about our summer and if we had done any travels. You know we said we were in Ukraine so he pulled us over to a map and wanted us to show him where we'd been.
Then he said he and two other teachers had taken a group of 40 North students to London, Italy, and the Vatican. We asked him how the trip had gone and he said fine until the Vatican when some of the kids had gotten (now determined) food poisoning.
He started telling stories. Imagine being at the Vatican, with a group of sick students. He was taking one outside to throw up - and less than fifteen feet from the door, the student spewed all over which caused the lady behind him to spew and now he was covered front to back with vomit! They reached outside where a group students from North were providing rivers of vomit down the steps of the Vatican!
The teachers decided to quarantine the sick students in the same rooms - four per room. One student was throwing up in the toilet, one in the bathtub, one in the sink and one in the bideau. How pleasant! And we thought squattie potties were bad!
Fortunately, they had all recovered in twenty-four hours . . .
