After meeting with his internist last week, Dad had decided he was not going to have surgery for his colon cancer and let nature take it's course.
On Monday, he met with his surgeon (who had removed Dad's original colon cancer in 2015). The doctor said that there was a small polyp that was causing Dad's bleeding. He would go in on the left side and take it out. Dad would come to the hospital the day before for the colon cleansing procedure, have surgery the next morning, and be dismissed to go to a nursing home for a one to two day recovery.
Dad said, "I'm not going to the nursing home."
The surgeon said, "I guess you'll be staying two days in the hospital after surgery."
Dad is very comfortable with this change of plans and scheduled for surgery on April 26, ten days after his ninetieth birthday!
Thank you, Jesus!
