Imagine swimming lessons with an instructor who is legally blind, who walks with a white cane and attends the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind in Fairbault. Imagine someone with a bright smile, a great sense of humor and the ability to pick apart strokes and correct what is wrong. Imagine an instructor who actually hears what is wrong with your stroke. This young man is quite amazing. We had a lot of debate and scrutinization and concern for swimmer safety, but in the end, he got his Water Safety Instructor Certification. There may be some parameters set on what he can teach - because of swimmer safety - but there are none on what he can do with his life! Congratulations!
