If you look close, you'll see me doing the happy dance! I just heard from Micah's college of choice and the 2016 forms I sent them from the IRS will satisfy their requirements and I no longer have to contact the IRS to request a 1040X which we never received in the first place! Now do you see why I'm happy?

Only at Sand Creek . . .
After a challenging day on the course yesterday - can you say out of control birthday party for a ten-year old? - which was only made better because said child's father left a large staff tip last night, it was back on the course today.
We had seventy students out from Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran eighth grade confirmation class. God was gracious. I had the sweetest group ever - eleven girls from all over the South metro. I sent them down the zip line, took them to the high ropes course and then crossed over the river with them into the low ropes course.
While talking with them at "Alligator Crossing", Amanda said she used to live in the Burnsville District. Our conversation went something like this:
"Where'd you go to elementary school?"
"Marion W. Savage Elementary."
"Do you remember what teachers you had?"
"My very favorite of all was Mr. Zupke . . ."
"I'm Mrs. Zupke!"
Enough said.

"I have to . . . "
Every single child in my first class at the Y was five minutes late today. We sang a song, did three bobs and Malcolm made the public service announcement, "I have to POOP!", that truly was heard around the pool!
Off he went. For the next twenty minutes, he stayed behind closed doors with his mum. I checked with my supervisor. "What is our protocol when someone spends almost the entire lesson in the bathroom? I know we don't make up lessons, but I have room in my next class. Can I add him?" There should be some reward for the mom who gets her child to lessons!
So after Malcolm went, Malcolm stayed and participated in my second lesson. Mom and Malcolm were happy.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!
I made it out to the backyard yesterday, having finished "cleaning up" the front yard. I was pretty excited to see how my coral belles had survived. They were beautiful at the end of last summer and I just knew they were going to be huge this year, perfect for Micah's graduation!
I discovered, that instead of what you see above, some woodland critter had enjoyed them for breakfast, lunch and dinner over the winter. All I had were stems and stalks! But just those in the center and on the left side of the yard - the right side is still huge! Obviously, it was in God's plans that Micah's party NOT be at our house this year!

Thankful Thursday!
On our way home from bringing a meal over to Nichole's house last night, one that is every parent's nightmare and every child's delight - pizza and chocolate chip cookies! - I told Sam about my day. Keep in mind that Nichole shared with us that lumps on her thyroid were cancerous but her lymph nodes were clear - no chemo or radiation. They had got it all.
When I bent over to pick up Annie's poo yesterday morning, I could barely do it. I was feeling as bad as I had felt a month ago and I knew something wasn't right. I came home and sent a MyChart message to my doctor and within an hour I had his response.
I've had a set back with my polymyalgial rheumatica. That's all. Just a set back. For that I am thankful. Like I said to Sam, it's not cancer. I'm not dying. I just hurt.
I'm back up to 15 mg of Prednisone. I'm scheduled for a bone density test next week - Prednisone can destroy calcium. I have blood work the first of June. I see my doctor the second week. In between awards night, baccalaureate, graduation, college visits, and work - I am thankful, that while it is painful, it is only a set back. In His time . . .
The Earring.
Tuesday after work I got called upon to help with Barbara's lifeguard recertification. I was the victim! Three backboards in the shallow water, two in the deep, a couple of multiple victim rescues and she was recertified.
We were chatting afterward and she was holding the rescue tube. She said, "What is this?" Someone had stuck a gaudy bling-bling pierced earring in the rescue tube. She pulled it out - first rescue after recertification. I took it, stuck it in my top hole - and grossed everyone out! Seriously? Like it hasn't been in chlorinated water for the past hour!
