Happy 21st Birthday, Matt!

He is SO NOT going to be happy when he finds this!

This I Believe (The Creed) Lyric Video

YouVersion - The Bible App

Every February, my Bible app offers a 21 day Bible reading challenge which will actually end on Wednesday.  I decided this year my focus would be on worship so I've spent time with Rend Collective, Hillsong and more as they've shared their stories with me.

The next post will be the song God gave to me yesterday from Hillsong, actually filmed in Kiev, Ukraine.  Need I say more?

Valentine's Day!

With my hub in Iowa and my kids not wanting to celebrate Valentine's Day with me, I took to "Bitmoji" and sent greetings to my friends at Sand Creek!  I found out all sorts of amazing information - Alan's NOT engaged yet, nor has he eloped; Emmee is officially an RN - she just passed her boards; Tim is back to running after getting his torn ACL fixed in late October; Trevor is using his engineering skills to build a car; Blaize is being a big machine operator; Nathan has a great internship lined up for the summer; and Jake is just hanging in there until the school year ends - trying to finish strong.  I thank God for the opportunity to encourage and be blessed by my SCA co-workers.

Spread the Love

Thankful Thursday!

Today, I am simply thankful for Cheetos!  It's been a rough few days and there's nothing like that fake orange cheesy goodness to give a tired soul a boost!

Personally, I prefer the Puffs, but you get more with the Crunchy, so today I had Crunchy.  Eat on!

Scavenger Hunt!

In 2007, when we ventured to the Africa Mercy for the very first time, some friends of ours from New Zealand gave us the names of friends of theirs who would be on the ship while we were.  Our job was to find Trevor and Faye's friends and greet them, thereby making new friends for us.  We had a blast and met some great people!

This past Saturday there was an article in the local paper, the STARTRIB, about Ashley Vick, a nurse from Lakeville, MN, who is currently working on the Africa Mercy.  I took a chance, figured out her ship e-mail and contacted her.

She responded!  I pulled a Faye and Trevor and sent her a list of friends to greet - thinking "we had so much fun doing that, maybe she will, too". I even gave her the departments they were in.

Then my brain turned a bit devious.  I thought, "Wouldn't it be a hoot if my friends on the ship came up to her and greeted her?"  I've already heard back from two of them, one is the managing director, and they are excited to go on my scavenger hunt and find Ashley Vick!

My biggest fear?  She will no longer want to get together when she comes home next month!  My friends can be a bit wild and crazy . . .
